Sabrina Carpenter is making quite an impression. So far this year, the popstar has released her record-breaking, smash-hit album "Short n' Sweet," which has earned her six Grammy nominations and a win for Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. She's also taken over the beauty world, becoming Redken's first Global Brand Ambassador, with a spotlight on her trendy fringe bangs, vintage Hollywood waves and signature blonde.
Now, she's taking on the world with her 47-show run of the "Short n' Sweet" Tour. Carpenter is wrapping up a sold out U.S. leg with three shows in the Los Angeles area. For night one, Christina Aguilera joined the "Espresso" singer on stage for a mash-up of two of her hits "Ain't No Other Man" and "What a Girl Wants." Celebrity hairstylist Iggy Rosales (@hairbyiggy) created Aguilera's stunning hair look for the night using hairtalk hair extensions.
“Inspired by the elegance of classic Hollywood, I created a look that combines soft, voluminous waves with a hint of drama and sophistication," Rosales shares. "Using hairtalk extensions in colors 60A (Light Blonde) and 613 (Platinum Blonde), I achieved a stunning blend that enhances Christina’s natural beauty and elevates her stage presence for her guest performance at the Sabrina Carpenter show."
Below, Rosales shares her tutorial for bringing these vintage Hollywood waves to life.
Christina Aguilera's Glamourous Vintage Waves
- Extension Preparation: I selected hairtalk extensions in colors 60A and 613 to add dimension and depth, creating a luminous, natural look. I used a mix of lengths to achieve full-body volume, focusing on mid-length and ends for cascading waves.
- Application Technique: Starting with a full head application, I carefully placed the extensions to maximize volume while ensuring seamless blending. I focused on creating even distribution around the crown and sides to achieve the desired balance and fullness. I layered the extensions strategically, placing more volume at the bottom to allow for a natural wave flow.
- Styling the Waves: I used a large-barrel curling iron to create soft, uniform waves, rolling sections away from the face for that timeless Hollywood effect. After the curls cooled, I gently brushed through them to transform them into smooth, cohesive waves. I applied a lightweight finishing spray to hold the waves in place without stiffness, maintaining a soft, touchable finish.
- Finishing Touches: I added a touch of shine serum to accentuate the blonde tones and give the hair a reflective, high-gloss finish. I parted the hair slightly off-center for a classic look that enhances facial symmetry and complements Christina’s stage aesthetic.
