Matrix Announces $1 Million Scholarship Fund, "Imagine All You Can Be"

For the past three years, the Matrix Spread the Love program has connected Matrix with students, schools and salons nationwide, sharing inspiration and celebrating accomplishments. Now, in an effort to touch the future generation of beauty professionals in a new and powerful way, Matrix announces the launch of their $1 Million Imagine All You Can Be Scholarship Fund, a 5-year program commitment to the beauty industry.

The first part of the program launched on April 1 with the 2014 “Imagine All You Can Be Scholarship Contest” for cosmetology students nationwide. Existing and prospective cosmetology students are invited to submit a 60-90 second video addressing the theme, “What I Imagine I Can Be.” A panel of industry experts will judge each video entry for passion and creativity, and 50 students will be selected to receive a $1,000 cosmetology school scholarship. Students at any Matrix school are eligible to participate, but must be enrolled in a Matrix cosmetology school as of September 1, 2014. Entry deadline is July 31, 2014 and winners will be announced September 1.

“We can’t wait to see how students demonstrate their passion, creativity and imagination,” comments Matrix VP/General Manager Paul Schiraldi.

The fund will continue to expand over the next five years, encompassing several exciting components. In addition to the national “Imagine All You Can Be Scholarship Contest”, there will also be a joint scholarship fund for Matrix Family level schools, a unique mentorship program that will pair students with individual Matrix Artists and Matrix Color Mastery scholarship program for this rigorous, advanced color education program in New York City.

“Matrix is honored to step up our ongoing commitment to hairstylists, future hairstylists and the beauty industry,” notes Schiraldi. “With these unique scholarship opportunities for cosmetology education and advanced training, the future of beauty looks brighter than ever!”
