Ines Di Santo Fall 2014 Bridal: Couture Collection

The new Ines Di Santo Couture Collection, recently debuted at the New York International Bridal Market, takes flight into a dreamy, sensual, otherworldly realm with a heavy emphasis on the feminine. Known for her signature mermaid styles, it seems only fitting that Ines Di Santo's collection would be partially influenced by the legendary city of Atlantis, which inspired the airy silhouettes that give the appearance of floating along with sublime lightness. Color, an important element of this collection, included a lavender hue as well as cameo pink, blush and champagne.

The Hair:
Leading runway stylist, Felix Fischer, created stylishly elegant buns and then took them to another level through his innovative use of shape texture. Moving beyond the traditional, super-smooth bun, Fischer added waved extensions, then shaped and formed the hair into oversize bubble-buns with a unique textural depth. According to Fischer, “I was inspired by the exceptional beauty and design of Ines’ gowns, and the brilliant hair looks created for the great couture houses in the 60’s by master stylist Alexandre De Paris, as well as the looks he did for Elizabeth Taylor at the time.”

How The Look Was Created:
“I first prepared the hair with a few drops of Moroccanoil Treatment or Moroccanoil Light for blondes. Next, I used Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream for a smooth soft hold. I used quite a bit of product since I wanted to create a unique effect and wanted the hair to look really shiny, smooth and modern, almost lacquered. I sprayed the surface of the hair with Moroccanoil Treatment, followed by Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray, then pulled the hair back and up, creating a high ponytail. I then curled my various hairpieces after preparing them with Moroccanoil Treatment and Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream to define the curls without any stiffness.  After releasing the curls, I shook them out without brushing to emphasize their cascading texture. After joining the rest of the hair with hairpieces, I used big hair nets to cage the curls while letting their texture show through. Next, I formed the buns into different boldly-shaped bubbles. The net allowed me to mold and hold the look of the hair at any height or direction that I wanted. I pinned the shapes at their base and all the way to the front, to hold their form once they were created. To finish, I sprayed the entire head with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong and then Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for an amazing shine that made the looks chic and modern."
