I admit it: I have a tendency to get stuck in a beauty rut. My morning routine consists of lightly misting my hair with spray to stave off the effects of humidity. That’s it. I haven’t even colored my hair beyond a demipermanent gloss. Yet for quite some time now, I’ve wanted to do something different…
I recently had the opportunity to revisit one of my favorite Beverly Hills salons: The Private Room. Not only did owner Tina Dizon treat me to an amazing gravity-defying blowout along with a sparking demipermanent "Tiger's Eye" brunette hue (part of the salon's brand-new "The Glossary" bar)-which in and of itself, makes for one fantastic salon experience-but the "service" I experienced at the salon was one of the best.
Our executive editor, Amy Dodds, sent me a link to this video earlier today:
It poses some burning questions, indeed, in addition to providing a perfect afternoon-pick-me-up!
Watch it. It'll make you smile.
What are some common questions/concerns your clients ask you? In all seriousness, please, let us know! We'd love to include them in an upcoming issue!
Having an amazing conditioning treatment topped with a fabulous blow-out is the best, right?! I was recently treated to a Minardi conditioning service by none other than star colorist Sherry Ratay and blow-out by the one-and-only Mika Fowler at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills, California. While I don't have a before photo, I must relay that I came in with my hair looking less than stellar (dry and damaged).
True, I may not play with my hair as much as I probably should (I'm a creature of habit), but I absolutely adore dabbling with different hairpieces--wigs, falls, clip-ins and more!
At this year's NAHAs, fellow Launchpad editor Jillian Gordon and I were given a special pre-awards treat: Internationally acclaimed editorial stylists Sherri Jessee and Mikala Vandenbroucke prepped us to the nines with hair, makeup, jewelry, the works! We felt like probeauty royalty, if only for a few hours. ;)
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love seeing women help other women. It doesn’t seem to happen often enough, though I do feel that those in our wonderful world of beauty truly do make strides to help one another.
Last Friday, I kicked off the weekend with one of the best blow-outs I've ever had at The Private Room in Beverly Hills, California. Just shy of a year old, the studio caters to the city's sophisticated clientele with an intimate atmosphere accompanied by fabulous artwork, tasty lattes (or wine, if you'd prefer!) and, most importantly, a small but very accomplished staff that seems to be all smiles, all the time. Salon owner Tina Dizon blew out my tresses in record time (I'd have to guess approximately 20 mins.!), but the best part?
A few months ago, I blogged on Byu-ti Hair Therapy in Santa Monica, California. [Read my original blog here!] Now, salon owner and Pureology ambassador Natasha Sunshine has opened a second location in neighboring Brentwood, California.
