2014 Grammy's Beauty: Colbie Caillat's Reverse-Braided Topknot

Celebrity hairstylist Torsten Witte created a fun, flattering hair look for singer and Grammy nominee Colbie Caillat for the 2014 Grammy Awards. The look was polished yet relaxed with a reverse-braid and overall "messy" appearance. Says Witte, "The topknot is one of my all-time favorites - so flattering to the face."

Get the Look:
1. Beginning with damp hair, Witte blow dried the hair with the T3 Evolution LongLife Dryer then straightened it with the T3 Fahrenheit450 Flat Iron.

2. Next, he created a diagonal reverse-braid beginning at the nape of the neck, under the right ear, and continued to the top of the head where he then tied it off with a CyndiBands elastic hair tie.

3. Once the reverse-braid was secured, Witte gathered the remaining loose hair and the braid together at the top of the head into a high ponytail using another CyndiBands elastic hair tie.

4. Securing with hair pins, he then wrapped the ponytail and braid into a messy topknot and finished with a light hair spray to keep hair in place but still maintaining a “messy” look.
